Udayana Logarithm 2024: National Mathematics and Statistics Competition That Inspired the Young Generation

Logaritma Udayana 2024 is a written and scientific mathematical idea competition which is an annual activity organized by the Mathematics Study Program Student Association of Udayana University (HIMATIKA). Logaritma Udayana 2024 holds three categories: essay competition, digital poster competition, and KMS (Mathematics and Statistics Competition). This competition is national, namely throughout Indonesia, with details: essay competition for high school and college students, digital poster competition for high school and college students, mathematics competition for elementary, middle, and high school categories, and statistics competition for high school level.

Logaritma Udayana 2024 activities are carried out in a hybrid manner (online-offline). Participant registration is done online, and poster and essay competitions are held online. Meanwhile, KMS is held in a hybrid manner (online and offline). Namely, the preliminary round was held on October 27, 2024, via Zoom Meeting, then continued with the peak of the activity on November 2, 2024, which took place in the Nusantara Room of the Udayana University Building and the Postgraduate Building of the FMIPA Sudirman. At the peak of the activity, the semifinals, KMS finals, and essay finals were held.

The 2024 Udayana Logarithm activity was attended by judges from the three competition branches, lecturers, Student Organizations, HIMATIKA Core Management

, participants, and participant companions. The total number of semifinal participants who attended was 71 participants, with the following details: 14 participants from the elementary school mathematics competition category, 19 participants from the junior high school mathematics competition category, 19 participants from the high school mathematics competition category, and 19 participants from the high school statistics competition category.

The peak of the 2024 Udayana Logarithm, November 2, 2024, occurred from 08.00 WITA to 18.00 WITA. The activity began with the registration of all invited guests and participants, then continued with the opening by the MC, opening dance, reading of prayers, singing the song Indonesia Raya, the Udayana Hymn, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences March, and the Mathematics March, and continued with a report by the chairman of the committee. After that, an opening was held containing speeches, namely a speech from the chairman of Himatika by I Made Gede Sudiksa Temaja, a speech from Koprodi by Mrs. I Gusti Ayu Made Srinadi, S.Si., M.Si. as well as the opening of the Udayana Logaritma 2024 event. This opening activity was held in the Nusantara Room at Udayana University. After that, at 10.00 WITA, the room was moved, and preparations for the KMS semifinals were carried out in the FMIPA Postgraduate Building, which lasted for 60 minutes.

Along with the preparation for the KMS semifinals, at 10.00 WITA, the final essay presentation also began, which took place online for 345 minutes. Then, the KMS semifinals took place at exactly 10.40 WITA, and the last note was the respect for working on the questions. After the KMS semifinals, there will be a break, prayer, and meal for 20 minutes. Then, after the break, participants return to the FMIPA Postgraduate Building to see the announcement of those who have qualified for the final round. There are ten finalists from the elementary and junior high school mathematics competition categories and the high school statistics competition, while 12 finalists are from the high school mathematics category. Then, we continue the preparation for the KMS final for 10 minutes, and the KMS final will take place at 13.35 WITA for 90 minutes. After the KMS final is over, participants are directed back to the Nusantara Room to enjoy entertainment such as dance covers, ice-breaking, and solo vocal performances by active mathematics students. After that, the event continues with the delivery of impressions from the participants. Then, there will be an announcement of the winners from each competition branch. The MC announces the winners and will be given prizes, starting from the poster champion, essay champion, and finally, the KMS. The poster champion is the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and favorite champion. Then, for the essay, the winners are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. While for KMS's winners are 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and rank 4 to 10. Next is the closing of the event with a final report by the deputy chairman of the committee and a final speech by the representative of the lecturer who also closed the Udayana Logaritma 2024 activity. The Udayana Logaritma 2024 activity can be said to have run well and smoothly, and this cannot be separated from the hard work of the entire committee. Of course, there were still some obstacles during the event, but the committee was still able to overcome them.
