Workshop on Instrument Validity and Reliability Testing Successfully Held at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Udayana University

Jimbaran, November 18, 2024 – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Udayana University held a workshop entitled “Instrument Validity and Reliability Testing” on Monday, November 18, 2024. This event aims to improve participants’ understanding and skills in testing the validity and reliability of research instruments that play an important role in producing quality data.


The workshop took place in one of the FMIPA Udayana University courtrooms and was attended by some academics. The following is a series of activities in the event:


The event started at 08.30 WITA with a participant registration session coordinated by the committee. After that, at 09.30 WITA, the series of opening events began. The opening ceremony began with singing the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, and the Udayana Hymn, followed by a report from the Head of UP3M and remarks from the Dean of FMIPA Udayana University or his representative.


The main session of the workshop began at 10:00 WITA by presenting two competent speakers in their fields, namely Dr. Made Ayu Dwi Octavanny, S.Si and Anggun Yuliarum Qur'any, S.Si., M.Sc., Lecturer of the Mathematics Study Program, FMIPA, Udayana University.


The material presented includes theory and practice in testing the validity and reliability of survey instruments. Participants are given direct training with intensive assistance from the speakers to understand the testing methods used in various scientific studies.


Ratna Sari Widiastuti, S.Si., M.Sc., guided this session and ensured the discussion was dynamic and focused. Participants actively discussed and asked the speakers questions to deepen their insights.


The event continued with the awarding of certificates to the speakers and moderators to appreciate their contributions. After the closing, the event ended with lunch together, an opportunity for participants to build relationships and exchange ideas.


Through this workshop, participants are expected to be able to apply the knowledge gained to improve the quality of their research. The Head of UP3M, in his report, emphasized the importance of valid and reliable research instruments as a basis for data-based decision-making.


This event received positive appreciation from participants, who were enthusiastic about the material presented. FMIPA Udayana University is committed to continuing to hold similar activities to support the development of science and professionalism among academicians.
